A senior Ukrainian defense ministry official said notorious mercenaries were plotting to assassinate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Denis Shimhal. But that conspiracy has been thwarted. “They wanted to assassinate our president and prime minister,” said Markian Lubkivsky, a Ukrainian defense ministry official. He also said, “Russia’s goal was to do that, and for that they sent a few people to Ukraine. But the tenants have failed.”
He also said that Ukrainian intelligence and special forces tasked with protecting Zelensky had confirmed the plot. Markian Lubkiewski said all documents and necessary evidence would be sent to the International Court of Justice. He also said that nothing more could be revealed due to the campaign.
Earlier, U.S. officials said Russia had recruited Syrians to fight in Ukraine. The Wall Street Journal reports that many mercenaries have visited Russia and are preparing to deploy in Ukraine.
Russia has been hit hard
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky says Russia’s military has been hit hard by his country’s troops. This has caused a lot of damage to the Russian army.The Ukrainian president made the remarks in a video message on Friday night.
In the video, Zelensky claims that about 16,000 Russian soldiers were killed by Ukrainian forces. Zelensky said Ukraine’s armed forces had repulsed enemy attacks in the southern part of the country, Donbass, Kharkiv and Kiev. By suppressing the Russian military, Russia is putting the leadership in a general and logical position. He also said that meaningful, urgent and fair discussions are needed.
Earlier on Friday, Russia announced the number of casualties in Ukraine. Russia’s Defense Ministry says 1,351 troops have been killed in Ukraine. 3 thousand 825 people were injured. However, analysts say that Russia’s military has suffered far more casualties than previously thought.
