A mobile court in Shibganj of Chapainawabganj has fined a company Tk 30,000 for making spices by mixing banned colors and rice husks.
The Consumer Rights Protection Department on Wednesday (July 8) raided Tariqul Islam’s spice factory in Narendra Bazar area of Monaksha Union in the upazila around 12 noon.
Osman Gani, assistant director of the department in Chapainawabganj, told that factory owner Tariqul Islam has been fined Tk 30,000 for making spices by mixing banned colors and rice husks at Monaksha Narendra Bazar in Shibganj upazila. As well as adulterated spice powder has been destroyed.
A team of district and Shibganj police and Sanitary Inspector Kobbat Ali assisted in the operation.
